New Girl

How goes it?! Not only am I new girl because I am now a MARRIED WOMAN, but our song "What Is It With Me?" was placed in Episode #101 (http://www.hulu.com/watch/283234/new-girl-kryptonite) on the new Fox show 'New Girl'! How freakin awesome is that?! Adam and I are back in the lab attempting to speed things up because many events have held us back a few times from past imagined goal deadlines. Now that we got most of the time consuming events and stress out of the way, it's time to get things back on their feet and jogging for the new year :o).

This Thanksgiving and Christmas, remember what you already have and not what you want. Go ahead and day dream of what would be nice, but be thankful for your life and all the blessings in it. Stay tuned for more new and shiny things with The Orkids, and meanwhile, look and admire the shiny things already around you. <3

Thanks for sticking around and being patient with us. Let me just let you all know that bands, like ours, that aren't able to make a living with making and playing music, must find back up plans in able to stay on their feet. It is exactly what's delaying our progress with the new album right now. The second we finish mixing a song, we make a new one which adds the needed time to the release date. With school and work, we are trying as a band and musicians to get the new stuff completed for you guys, and for ourselves as well. Thanks for your patience, and keep sticking around for updates. We have some shows upcoming, so please come out and hear the new stuff.

How goes it?!

Sandra here....pretty late on a Friday night. Full belly. Relaxed.

Just wanted to drop by and let you guys know Athfest rocked this year. It was our best show yet. Check out the footage taken of 'Social Heroine'. Good times. We love doing what we're doing and we like how things are looking.

Keep an eye out, we want these new tracks out just as bad you do. Get ready.

New EP coming soon and much, much, more....

Greetings Programs...
It has been a minute since my last communication, but Maximum has been upgrading. I am now fully functional with the Korg Micro series (MicroKorg, MicroSampler, MicroStation) as my live rig. Sleek, lean and mean! Adieu, Triton. You served you master well.

But enough about me...there is so much going on with The Orkids that I've got to share some of the news or I will derez. Sandra has some new lines, we've got some new tunes, and we are close to releasing our new EP!!!

We have an official title for the new EP: Space and Airplanes, and we want YOU to be a part of it. We currently have an open call for album artwork based on the EP's title. If you are feeling game and got some skillz, send us your best shot at info@theorkids.com or slap it on our Facebook page. We have some really radical stuff coming in so far, so it should get interesting. In addition to the their work being the art for the EP and being included in the album credits, the winning artist will also receive some other ultra-dope Orkids related perks, so if you would like to be part of our next release, lock, load and show us what you got.

We are in the lab, as we speak, putting finishing touches on the trax, so stay tuned for for all the details leading up to lift off, including track listing, song previews, behind the scenes shenanigans and more for Space and Airplanes.

Music Video Time!

We are blessed enough to have the event of recording our next video in just a matter of two days! An amazing group of UGA seniors teamed up for their last project of the school year and were kind enough, to ask if we could help. We are amazed at the talent in this group.
